A very important topic that we dedicated ourselves to during our cooperation with Juniqe is "Mindfulness". You hear these terms constantly and everywhere, but have you ever actively engaged with them? What exactly does mindfulness mean? And how can this concept improve our quality of life and overall well-being? Here you will find the answers to all your questions about the concept of "mindfulness."
Mindfulness means paying attention to the here and now and consciously perceiving the present moment. This means observing without judgment - whether walking, cooking, or doing other everyday activities. Often, we rush through daily life, our thoughts already on tomorrow or next month, without realizing that life is passing us by.
Some might think that mindfulness is just a fad or a hype that comes and goes. However, it is a concept with deep roots, having been used in Buddhism thousands of years ago. There, mindfulness is defined as observing the physical condition, classifying the emotional state, and focusing on clear thoughts. The goal: it should help us slow down our daily lives and reduce stress.
Research has shown that meditation and mindfulness have positive effects on our minds: stress reduction, increased concentration, more emotional balance. There are various mindfulness exercises through which everyone can learn to pay more attention to physical sensations and emotions. Most exercises can be easily integrated into daily life:
In a hectic everyday life, a simple pause can help you recharge your batteries and find some peace. For pausing, you should take at least one minute several times a day. Simply sit or stand and direct your attention to your body and your breathing. Observe your feelings without judging them and ask yourself how you are doing. At first, this can be very difficult, but it will become easier over time.
You can use the time you spend walking somewhere, whether it's on your way to the grocery store, to the subway, or just out for a walk, to focus and calm your thoughts. This is precisely what walking meditation is about, for example. By actively perceiving, you bring yourself into the here and now and give the carousel of thoughts and your worries a break.
This exercise is particularly good in the evening before going to sleep, to review the day. Consider what events, things, or people you are grateful for today. Focus on each for a few seconds. Many people also find it helpful to write these things down to internalize them and to be more mindful of the beautiful things we encounter in everyday life in the future.
It comes in many different forms: sitting meditation, walking meditation, compassion meditation, and many more... Here too, it's about focusing your attention. You can concentrate on various aspects: your breathing, physical or mental sensations, an image in your mind's eye, or even in reality. Through regular meditation, you can effectively improve your concentration and creativity. Try it out now with Alina's sleep meditation!
A valuable supporter for your mindfulness exercises or meditation can be CBD oil. It can help you calm down to fully free yourself from everyday stress and live more consciously and balanced. You have probably already recognized the parallels here: both mindfulness and meditation as well as CBD can help you develop a higher mental and physical well-being and aim to bring more balance and calm into your daily life.
