It's not just since the Netflix series "How to sell drugs online fast" that it's been known that online drug trafficking via the Darknet is becoming increasingly popular. This fact may alarm or surprise many. However, the first e-commerce transaction was a drug deal, because the first product ever sold online was a bag full of marijuana.
In 2005, John Markhoff published a book entitled "What the Dormouse Said: How the Sixties Counterculture Shaped the Personal Computer Industry," in which he revealed that the first online transaction was a drug deal. The book states:
"In 1971 or 1972, students at Stanford University Artificial Intelligence Laboratory used the Arpanet (predecessor of the internet, which was used for military purposes) to conduct a commercial transaction with their colleagues at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Even before Amazon and eBay, the first groundbreaking act in e-commerce was a drug deal. The students used the network to secretly arrange the sale of an unspecified amount of marijuana."
The Darknet thrives on trade in the most diverse goods, many of which people only know from crime novels. But what exactly is "the dark side" of the internet? Without the necessary software or a specific browser configuration, the Darknet remains hidden from ordinary internet users. Therefore, it is occasionally referred to as part of the Invisible Web.
This hidden part of the internet is only accessible through a so-called Tor browser. This is software that provides access to the Tor network. Applications like the Tor browser ensure anonymity on the Darknet. Data traffic remains encrypted and is rerouted through several computers. To find a site on the Darknet, you have to use special search engines, distinct from Google and similar platforms.
The Darknet is particularly interesting for two groups: On one side are people who need protection for their communication. These include, for example, journalists who share sensitive data and information and sometimes fear for their own lives. This group also includes politically oppressed individuals, opposition members from dictatorial countries, and whistleblowers.
The second group also uses this anonymity to avoid negative consequences and evade prosecution. The activities of this group would very quickly lead to charges, as well as fines and prison sentences, in the visible web. The Darknet contains forums, webshops, platforms for services and goods that are either illegal or subject to strict legal regulations.
Given the countless possibilities the Darknet offers, the question arises whether one can also buy cannabis there. The question "How to buy weed on the Deep Web" leads to almost a million hits in a regular Google search.
Where such a lively demand exists, there is also an almost inexhaustible supply: On the Darknet, sellers offer the most diverse varieties and forms of the drug. Because everything that is found on the street, and even more, has long since found its way into the Darknet.
Few people know an organic hemp farmer, which is why buying on Darknet sites is the second safest way to get the intoxicating plant. This is because Darknet deals involve no physical contact between buyer and seller, thus minimizing the risk of being involved in a confrontation.
It is important to know, however, that this is by no means legal in this country and, in the worst case, can be prosecuted. Therefore, we strongly advise against buying cannabis from the Darknet.
Buying cannabis on Darknet sites remains risky and is not recommended, despite legalization in Germany. The risks of buying on the Darknet include potential scams, unregulated product quality, and the danger of criminal prosecution due to illegal trade routes. Furthermore, there is a lack of transparency that is present in legal purchases, such as product testing and quality assurance.
Since the legalization of cannabis in Germany, adults can now legally purchase cannabis products in licensed stores. These stores offer tested products that are controlled for quality and safety, minimizing the risk of health damage. The legal market also ensures that the purchasing process is transparent and regulated, which provides consumers with additional security.
At the same time, the market for CBD products has expanded significantly. CBD, the non-psychoactive component of the cannabis plant, offers numerous health benefits without the intoxicating effects of THC. These products are freely available in many retail stores, pharmacies, and online shops and represent a safe and legal alternative.
Therefore, we recommend refraining from illegal purchases on the Darknet and instead utilizing the legal and regulated options now available. This way, one can experience the benefits of the versatile cannabis plant in a safe and lawful manner.
