What is Cannabis Oil?

There are now countless different CBD and hemp products, such as cannabis oil, which can be used for a wide variety of purposes. Especially with oils, there are a number of variations, so it's useful to know the difference. Firstly, you should always pay attention to the country of origin, as this is the only way to ensure that you receive high-quality cannabis oil. EU products are preferable, and products from Germany are always a good choice.

Cannabis oil, like other hemp-related oils, is extracted from the same plant, the marijuana plant (Cannabaceae). The plant is very versatile in its use; for example, edible oil can be extracted from its seeds. Essential oils can be obtained from the distilled leaves and flowers. Hashish and marijuana come from the dried flowers of the plant.

Furthermore, the plant is said to have great environmental benefits. Various everyday goods can be made from hemp, from textiles to insulation material to edible oil, the entire plant can be used. Especially in terms of efficiency and CO2 emissions, hemp outperforms common raw materials.

One hectare of hemp absorbs approximately 20 tons of CO2, whereas cotton only absorbs about 5 tons per hectare. The hemp plant grows back very quickly and can therefore be cultivated more efficiently than, for example, cotton or wood. The medical benefits of the hemp plant are a separate chapter.

Cannabis Oil Experiences

Cannabis oil, like the full-spectrum CBD oil from Hanfgeflüster, is extracted from the hemp plant. Various components, the cannabinoids and terpenes, are available in different concentrations. Cannabis oil is therefore always a full-spectrum oil, usually with a high THC content.

In Germany, the THC concentration in oils plays a legally important role. In the Federal Republic, THC oils with a THC dosage of more than 0.2% are prohibited.

The active ingredient THC is also known as Tetrahydrocannabinol and is classified as a psychoactive substance. It is therefore not surprising that it falls under the Narcotics Act. Experience shows that pure cannabis oil in Germany is only available with a prescription and is not freely marketable.

Cannabis Oil as Full-Spectrum Oil and CBD Isolate

A full-spectrum CBD oil is a meticulously extracted extract that contains all the cannabinoids present in the cannabis plant. There are over 113 known cannabinoids, 70 of which have been researched in more detail. These include CBD, CBC, CBN, and the most well-known cannabinoid: THC.

In addition to cannabinoids, full-spectrum oils also contain terpenes, flavonoids, vitamins, etc. A full-spectrum CBD oil contains all components of the cannabis plant and is equivalent to cannabis oil; the only difference lies in the THC content. For full-spectrum CBD oils, this is below 0.2%. However, all important active ingredients of the plant remain in the oil, enabling an entourage effect.

A CBD isolate, on the other hand, contains only a specific active ingredient of the hemp plant, for example, CBD. The oil therefore consists of a carrier oil to which a mostly powdered isolate, often with a purity of up to 99.9%, is added.

As the name isolate suggests, CBD is usually chemically isolated from the hemp extract. Alternatively, CBD can also be produced chemically directly. The finished isolate then has a white, powdered form, composed of many small crystals.

It is questionable whether a single active ingredient is sufficient to fully exploit the medical benefits of the cannabis plant. There are several theories on this topic. The most famous is probably Dalton's theory, which focuses on the entourage effect.

It is also known that isolates quickly reach their limits in terms of their effect. Beyond a certain point, increasing the dose is no longer effective, as the body cannot absorb the pure product anymore. In contrast, a full-spectrum product retains its positive effect with a higher CBD oil dosage.

Entourage Effect

The entourage effect was discovered by Dr. Ethan Russo and is simply described as an intensification of the product's effect. In technical terms: the biological activity can be increased in a mixture of plant substances, which is not possible in a pure isolate. The effect occurs when a CBD product based on a full-spectrum hemp extract is taken. This means that several cannabinoids are taken in combination through the product, as all substances of the plant are present in the extract and can thus interact and work together. This is different for a CBD product based on synthetically produced CBD isolate, where far less extensive and effective results can be observed.

With full-spectrum cannabis oil, the entourage effect can help to broaden the spectrum of action and intensify the effect. The effect is based on the interaction of the different cannabinoids, as well as the interaction with other substances found in hemp. Among other things, full-spectrum oils also contain the aforementioned terpenes, which can only show their effect in such a form, as they are not found in a CBD isolate. When viewed in isolation, they have "individual" effects, but they also work together and can thus produce further effects.

In conclusion, it can be summarized: those who use full-spectrum cannabis oil without THC can benefit from a synergy of CBD with other active ingredients found in hemp. Compared to cannabidiol isolates, full-spectrum hemp extracts show a naturally optimized effect that is not only stronger but also more far-reaching than that of pure CBD.

Hanfgeflüster cannabis oils are therefore based on full-spectrum CBD extract to be able to utilize the full power of the hemp plant.

What is Hanfgeflüster CBD oil made of?

The base of our full-spectrum cannabis oils are MCT and organic hemp seed oil. These are carrier oils that are needed with CBD, as the body cannot absorb cannabidiol without fat. We chose our carrier oils based on the numerous benefits of each oil, which further extend the advantages of CBD oil.

MCT Oil

MCT is short for "Medium Chain Triglycerides". This means they contain six to twelve carbon atoms, which also explains the designation of the individual fatty acids C6, C8, C10, and C12.

High-quality MCT oils contain only caprylic acid (C8) and capric acid (C10), as the body metabolizes these very quickly, making them fast energy suppliers. This boosts mental performance and ketosis, i.e., the fat-burning mode. MCT fatty acids can be converted into energy by the body in just 3 metabolic steps, while sugar, for example, requires 26. Thus, MCT oils are true boosters that provide a rapid increase in mental performance.

MCTs are derived from natural oils, often from coconut oil or palm kernel oil, as these tropical vegetable fats contain the highest natural occurrence of medium-chain fatty acids.

MCT oils can be used in many ways, for example in cooking or for skin care. You can find out how to use our Hanfgeflüster CBD oil* in the kitchen here.

Organic Hemp Seed Oil

Our other carrier oil is organic hemp seed oil, which is already more well-known. It provides the essential fatty acids Omega 3 and Omega 6, which the body cannot produce itself. These are found in hemp seeds and thus also in the oil not only in large quantities, but also in a particularly good ratio. In addition to fatty acids, the oil also contains a great many proteins that can be processed particularly well by the body, as well as fiber, vitamin building blocks and minerals. This makes it an all-round health-promoting addition to salads or similar. If possible, hemp oil should be used for cold dishes, as it starts to smoke at relatively low temperatures, whereby all nutritional values are then lost.

Hemp seed oil is therefore an all-round valuable supplement to a healthy diet, but it can do even more. It is not only used for ingestion, but also for external application to the hair or for the treatment of neurodermatitis. Furthermore, in a medical context, it is also used, for example, for the treatment of high blood pressure or chronic inflammation.

In this form, too, the hemp plant proves once again that it is a true all-rounder. You can find out more about the versatility of hemp here.

Cannabis oil – the natural pain reliever

Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of the most important and well-known active ingredients from the hemp plant and is particularly known for its pain-relieving and relaxing effects. For example, cannabis oil can help with many types of pain and, in addition, it can also have antispasmodic and anti-inflammatory effects, which is why it is suitable for many applications. Among other things, it is used against many types of pain. From headaches and migraines to menstrual pain and chronic pain, the oil is now often seen as an alternative to known medications.

Cannabis oil can be taken in different ways. Our oils are based, as described above, on organic hemp seed oil and MCT oil and offer optimal absorption of cannabidiol. In addition, they also provide important building blocks for the body, such as vitamins and amino acids as well as unsaturated fatty acids.

But now to the question: hemp extract or cannabis oil?

Both oils have many helpful benefits and are good for health, but in different ways. Cannabis oil is primarily used for complaints. These range from inner restlessness or sleep problems to pain therapy. A hemp oil without CBD extract can provide the body with important building blocks due to its many nutrients. The use of the oils therefore differs greatly. Whether it is a hemp oil or a CBD oil can be easily found out. All you have to do is take a look at the ingredients; as soon as hemp extract or CBD extract is listed there, it is a CBD oil.
